New York State Insider: Election Desk 2022 News: NY-17: Maloney Busted Again; Lawler Campaign Calls for Investigation.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:MALONEY BUSTED AGAIN HIRING HOUSEHOLD STAFF WITH TAX DOLLARS.

Lawler Campaign Calls for Investigation as Multi-Millionaire Maloney Caught Funding Personal Staff With Taxpayer Dollars a Second Time.

NY-17-Oct. 4…Multi-millionaire congressman Sean Maloney must be formally investigated over what are now two separate allegations of him paying personal household staff with taxpayer and political donor dollars, the campaign of congressional candidate Mike Lawler today demanded.

The latest incident involves the congressman paying his spouse’s personal trainer $7,000 in public funds to act as a driver. Just months ago, Rep. Maloney was exposed for having used taxpayer and donor dollars to relocate a Florida man to Maloney’s personal residence. That individual, who registered to vote out of Mr. Maloney’s home, was nebulously designated by Maloney as a “body man.”

“While his constituents are pinching pennies to pay the crushing cost of household items, multi-millionaire congressman Sean Maloney is living large off the taxpayer dime,” said Lawler campaign spokesman Bill O’Reilly. “When he’s not jet setting to Paris and London, as he did last weekend, courtesy of fat cat political donors, Mr. Maloney’s on the political cocktail circuit, while real people are hard at work. Not only is Mr. Maloney hopelessly out of touch with the average New York family, he may very well have broken the law by squandering their money. Ask former State Comptroller Alan Hevesi about that. We call on the U.S. Justice Department to launch an immediate investigation.”

CYBER SECURITY: From The Desk Of Yonkers News Center Journalist Brian Harrod

YONKERS NEWS CENTER: The City of Yonkers Is Being Offered A New Cyber Security Platform To Protect It Against Ransomware Attacks And Digital Viruses

#WOW.... And It Won’t Cost Yonkers A Thing.....

YONKERS: The City Will Be Able To Partner With CrowdStrike As Part Of A Shared Services Program Created By Gov. #KathyHochul, The New York State Office of Information Technology Services And #NewYork State’s Division Of Homeland Security And Emergency Services.
The Joint Security Operations Center was launched earlier this year to serve as the center for a collaborative response to local, state and federal cyber security efforts, and $30 million was put toward assisting municipalities across the state with cyber security technology.
As part of the shared services program, New York’s counties and the state’s initial JSOC partners will be offered #CrowdStrike endpoint detection and response services at no cost.
That will save #YonkersNY approximately $75,000 per year.
Mayor #MikeSpano with #NewYorkCity Mayor Eric Adams#BuffaloNY Mayor Byron Brown #AlbanyNY Mayor Kathy Sheehan#SyracuseNY Mayor Ben Walsh And #RochesterNY Mayor Malik Evans and cyber leaders across the state, are part of the cyber command center that will provide a statewide view of the cyber-threat landscape.
It will not, however, cover cyber security efforts for Yonkers Public Schools, because the new program only includes municipalities and not school districts, at this time.

New York State Insider: New York State Attorney General: Statement from NYS Attorney General James.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: September 30, 2022.

Attorney General James’ Statement on Death
of FDNY EMS Lieutenant Alison Russo-Elling.

NEW YORK – New York Attorney General Letitia James today released the following statement in response to the stabbing death of on duty FDNY Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Lieutenant Alison Russo-Elling:

My heart aches for the family, friends, and fellow EMS officers who loved Lieutenant Alison Russo-Elling. This senseless, brutal attack against a dedicated public servant is horrific, infuriating, and devastating. This attack reminds us all of the dangers faced by New York EMS personnel, and why these dedicated heroes who have earned our respect deserve pay equity and fair compensation. EMS officials like Lieutenant Russo-Elling put themselves in harm’s way to serve their fellow New Yorkers, they should be recognized and paid fairly for their devotion and duty. I join with all New Yorkers as we grieve for Lieutenant Russo-Elling. May her memory be a blessing and an inspiration.”

New York State Insider: Election Desk 2022 News: Endorsement Alert: US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer Endorses Pete Harckham for State Senate Re-Election!

Yesterday I received an endorsement from U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer, the Senate Majority Leader, for re-election to the State Senate.

Senator Schumer praised my accomplishments in the State Senate, and remarked on my work regarding environmental protections to safeguard our fragile drinking water supplies, fighting the climate crisis, education funding, middle-class tax cuts and infrastructure investments.

“Pete is one of the hardest working and most distinguished leaders in Albany, and we need him back,” said Senator Schumer, and added that I am “a dependable partner in governance who brings people together.”

Senator Schumer noted that we have been working together since 2008, when I first was elected to the Westchester County Board of Legislators, and said, “After all of these years, Pete hasn’t changed—he is still working hard and getting things done for all of us.”

That’s right.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Pete
