STATEMENT FROM REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE FOR GOVERNOR ROB ASTORINO. ON GOV. KATHY HOCHUL'S STATE OF THE STATE ADDRESS. "The lack of self-awareness and the level of denialism in this speech was really something else. The 40-minute monologue inspired no confidence and no honest accounting.  Much as she said she was unaware of the many Cuomo scandals during the past seven years she served as his right hand, she is now pleading ignorance to the pain she has directly caused New Yorkers. For instance, she correctly states that 'we simply don't have enough health care workers' to deal with COVID but fails to mention she created that crisis by forcing out 34,000 skilled health care workers over her unscientific vaccine mandate.   What New Yorkers needed today was an honest accounting of the failures of the state and a bold and substantive path forward.  What we received instead was retread rhetoric and cringe level-cliches we've heard a million times.  When I become Governor, I will pull this state out of the rotten pit it is in and put us back on the road to success, prosperity and freedom.”  Rob Astorino is running for governor of New York.
