New York State Insider: Statement from New York State Senator Pete Harckham: Investments That matter.

Dear Friend:

Next week, the New York State Senate will have our “One House” Budget proposal ready, and we will be closer to finalizing the State Budget for 2022-2023.

I am fighting to continue making record investments in education to lift students up and keep property taxes down.  I am also fighting to increase funding for safe, affordable childcare so that we prepare our school age residents for their futures and help their parents get back to work.

More investments that matter: continuation of the middle-class tax cut; STAR tax relief; lower property taxes—all while repairing our infrastructure.

Also, an environmental bond act that will lead us forward to green jobs and protect resources like clean drinking water and jumpstart renewable energy in New York.

It’s simple: our economic health is entirely connected to our public and environmental health.

Along with my Senate colleagues, that’s what I’m focused on.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,
Pete
