New York State Insider: New York State Senator Pete Harckham: We Will Not Stop Our Fight.

 

It has been a sad and unsettling week, to say the least. But I will not stop fighting for our values.

 

Even though the right-wing majority of the U.S. Supreme Court nullified New York’s public carry law, so any individual can now possess a handgun outside of a residence.

 

I will not stop the fight for safe communities.

 

And even though SCOTUS struck down Roe v. Wade, as expected, thus ending federal protections for a woman’s right to choose.

 

I will not stop the fight for justice and respect.

 

In the New York State Senate, I have passed common sense gun safety laws and legislation protecting women’s reproductive healthcare rights.

 

These are laws that will safeguard our residents, today and tomorrow.
