Hi Friend:
This week I announced a $200,000 state grant to the Village of Pleasantville for road reconstruction on Hopper Street, which has long been plagued with flooding.
In an effort to remediate flooding issues, work will soon start on a major project to mill, repave and regrade this residential cul-de-sac so that stormwater runoff in the area is diverted to new drainage infrastructure.
I am always ready to work with other local officials and municipalities to solve all kinds of problems. This project is a good example of a municipal, county and state leaders collaborating toward a shared goal.
And alleviating a good portion of the project’s costs, which would otherwise be shouldered by taxpayers, is a shared benefit, too, especially in tough economic times.
In this past year, I have delivered more than $5,000,000 of state grant funding to municipalities and nonprofits in Senate District 40.
My idea is to help all of the district’s residents and small business owners whenever the need arises.
Smart, responsive and effective action is what we need in New York—and what I bring to this job. Every day.
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Pete
