FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: A TALE OF TWO CAMPAIGNS.
While Lawler Knocks on Doors in the Rain to Speak with Voters,
Maloney Hobnobs in Paris and London.
NY-17-Oct. 5…As multi-millionaire Rep. Sean Maloney reels from news reports that he and his spouse paid personal household staff with taxpayer and campaign dollars — the second time the congressman has been questioned about using taxpayer dollars for personal services — his rarified itinerary from last weekend is raising eyebrows within the 17th Congressional District, the campaign of congressional candidate Mike Lawler today said.
While Assemblyman Lawler was knocking on doors in the rain last weekend to speak with Hudson Valley families, Mr. Maloney was hobnobbing in Paris and London with with wealthy expatriate donors (Mr. Maloney - second from left - is pictured above at a multi-million-dollar apartment suite overlooking the Seine River.)
“Pictures really are worth 1,000 words, and these photos from last weekend of the NY-17 congressional candidates say it all:” said Lawler campaign spokesman Bill O’Reilly. “While Assemblyman Lawler was working hard within the congressional district, Mr. Maloney was sipping chardonnay beside the Seine with Democratic Party bigwigs. The contrast begs the rhetorical question: ‘Who do voters think will work harder for their needs?’”
Mr. Maloney was hosted in Paris last weekend by a group calling itself “Democrats Abroad Paris,” that bizarrely promotes itself by encouraging the spaying and neutering of “feral Republicans.” (Image above.)
“Sean Maloney has been invisible in his district for years,” Mr. O’Reilly continued. “The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman (DCCC) gallavants around the globe while his constituents struggle to buy basic household necessities at the grocery store, thanks to Maloney’s terrible policy decisions. Fortunately, voters get to have their say on Tuesday, November 8th.”
