When I ran for a seat in the State Senate in 2018 education funding was my top priority.
It took five years of steady progress, but in last year’s budget—finally!—we fully funded schools in a big win for students and local taxpayers.
In the governor’s budget this year, though, she proposed to cut funding to half of the school districts statewide.
My Democratic colleagues and I fought back—and won!
We not only restored all the cuts to education funding, we added $17.2 million more for schools in Senate District 40, bringing a total of $208 million in extra funding for our schools since I’ve been in office!
Thank you!
Sincerely, Pete |
