WING-OFF IN WESTCHESTER!
Photo Caption: New York State Senate Minority Leader Robert Ortt (R-Lockport) flashes a dubious glance at State Senate candidate Gina Arena (SD-40) after Ms. Arena boldly claims that Blazers buffalo wings in North Salem can stand up to any of their counterparts coming out of Buffalo, which Senator Ortt represents. With the gauntlet thrown down, the two got to work and agreed to disagree in the end, though Senator Ortt was duly impressed with the downstate favorite. Senator Ortt, a U.S. combat veteran, was in the 40th Senate District at Ms. Arena’s request to tour the proposed, highly controversial battery farm site next to residential neighborhoods in Somers and Mahopac. Ms. Arena adamantly opposes the project calling it “inherently dangerous and profoundly misplaced.” Her opponent, State Senator Pete Harckham, has repeatedly tried to force state projects on communities that should be protected by home rule.
