Hudson Valley - Sept. 30…The campaign of state senate candidate Gina Arena (SD-40) today released “The Woman for the Job”, a 30-second digital ad highlighting the challenges facing Hudson Valley voters and featuring 40th district residents pledging to vote for Ms. Arena in the November 5 election.

The positive “real people” digital spot touches on several of the issues affecting New York families, including high taxes, broken promises, crime, government corruption, education challenges, and the $15 congestion pricing tax.

“It’s both heartwarming and revealing to see how many friends and neighbors want to appear in these ads,” Ms. Arena said. “People know that New York is failing them, and they want to tell their stories. But even more than that, they want a representative in the state senate with common sense again, and I’m humbled that they’re putting their confidence in me.  New Yorkers are not being well served by their government leaders right now. They need change.”

New York State Insider: STATEMENT FROM NYS CONSERVATIVE PARTY.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

September 26, 2024

HOCHUL CAN AND MUST REMOVE ADAMS FROM OFFICE UNDER CITY CHARTER PROVISION: NEW YORK STATE CONSERVATIVE PARTY.

Chapter 1 Section 9.

New York…"Governor Kathy Hochul has the power and obligation to remove New York City Mayor Eric Adams from office, following the near complete collapse of his administration under growing FBI probes,” New York State Conservative Party Chairman Gerard Kassar today said.

Under Chapter 1 Section 9 of the City Charter, Governor Hochul may immediately lodge charges against Mayor Adams who would be granted the right to defend himself. The Governor, who would act as the sole judge in the case, could also suspend the Mayor for 30 days during the pendency of the process, Mr. Kassar noted.

Mayor Adams is facing federal charges for bribery conspiracy, fraud, and soliciting illegal foreign campaign donations. Gracie Mansion was raided by Justice Department officials early this morning.

“Mayor Adams and his administration have spiraled out of control, and they’ve lost the ability to run this city with any type of public confidence,” Mr. Kassar said. “With the City reeling from crime, the migrant crisis, and high-level government corruption, Governor Hochul has a responsibility to act. She should immediately begin the process of removing Mr. Adams from office so that a new election can be held. The current situation is both  unworkable and intolerable.”

Chairman Kassar called on Mayor Adams to resign on Wednesday, but the Mayor is refusing to step aside.

Hudson Valley - Sept. 24…State Senate candidate Gina Arena (SD-40) today announced that her campaign has released “Pro-Women, Pro-Girl, and Pro-Choice”, a :40 digital ad outlining her advocacy for women and girls of every age.

“Pro-Women, Pro-Girl, and Pro-Choice” highlights Ms. Arena’s efforts to save Girls Sports from the State Board of Regents push to merge Girls and Boys Sports in New York, and from strident progressive ideologues advocating for biological males on girls’ and women’s sports teams. Ms. Arena argues that’s not fair to girls, who have worked hard to win places on teams and, potentially, to earn college scholarships.

“To be pro-women you also have to be pro-girl,” Ms. Arena, a mother of eight (six girls), said. “There’s a major threat to Girls Sports coming down in New York and I urge women throughout the state to join me in speaking out about it. Girls have every right to have sports of their own, and after 50 years of feminist progress in this area, I’m downright shocked at how little Albany thinks of these girls' dreams and efforts.”

New York State Insider: 2024 Election Desk: Endorsement Corner: New York State Senator Pete Harckham 40th District: WCLA – Choice Matters Endorses Me for My Leadership in Protecting Reproductive Healthcare Freedom.

This week the political action committee of Westchester Coalition for Legal Abortion (WCLA) – Choice Matters endorsed me for my leadership in protecting reproductive healthcare freedom.

Meanwhile, my opponent is hoping to convince voters that she a “pro-choice Republican.”

I know New York residents want more than talk and campaign rhetoric, especially when access to reproductive healthcare is at stake.

That’s why I helped pass the Reproductive Health Act in New York, two bills protecting the rights of women traveling to New York for reproductive health care, and two other important state laws shielding New York providers of reproductive healthcare from out of state prosecutions for providing such services.

I’m proud to be a leader in the fight to protect women’s right to reproductive healthcare. Time and again, I have fought for these rights, and will continue to do so.

Please stand with me in this fight and support my re-election to the State Senate.

Sincerely,

New York State Senator Pete Harckham 40th District.
