New York State Insider: New York State Attorney General: Attorney General James Files Motion to Hold Donald J. Trump in Contempt for Failure to Comply with Judge’s Order.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: April 7, 2022.

Attorney General James Files Motion to Hold Donald J. Trump
in Contempt for Failure to Comply with Judge’s Order.

AG James Seeks $10,000 Fine Per Day Until Trump Complies With Order to Turn Over Documents.

NEW YORK – New York Attorney General Letitia James today took legal action to hold Donald J. Trump in contempt for his refusal to comply with a court order to produce documents in response to a subpoena served on him by the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) as part of its ongoing investigation into his financial dealings. The motion for contempt, filed in New York County State Supreme Court, seeks to impose a $10,000 fine on Mr. Trump for every day that he continues to violate the court’s order to produce these documents.

“The judge’s order was crystal clear: Donald J. Trump must comply with our subpoena and turn over relevant documents to my office,” said Attorney General James. “Instead of obeying a court order, Mr. Trump is trying to evade it. We are seeking the court’s immediate intervention because no one is above the law.”

In February 2022, the Honorable Arthur Engoron rejected Mr. Trump’s challenge to OAG’s subpoena and ruled that he was required to “comply in full” by producing a range of documents to OAG as part of its investigation into his and the Trump Organization’s financial dealings. Mr. Trump was initially ordered to produce those documents by March 3, 2022, but OAG agreed to accommodate his request for additional time and extended the date to March 31, 2022. Mr. Trump agreed to this timeline and never sought to challenge this aspect of the order on appeal. However, on March 31, 2022, Mr. Trump raised a new round of objections to the document requests in the subpoena and stated that he would not produce any documents responsive to OAG’s subpoena, in direct violation of the judge’s order. Under settled law, a party is not permitted to delay proceedings at this advanced juncture in the legal process to challenge an investigative subpoena, so Mr. Trump does not have the ability to raise these baseless objections at this time.

New York State Insider: New York State Assemblyman Tom Abinanti 92nd District: It's In The Bag.

Assemblymember Tom Abinanti recently found a bagworm infestation on a tree outside of his home. To remove bagworms successfully, you need a bucket of soapy water and gloves. Just pluck the entire casing off of the tree and place it in the water. The soak takes care of the rest.

Bagworm caterpillars make distinctive 1.5 to 2 inch long spindle-shaped bags that can be seen hanging from twigs of a variety of trees and shrubs. Sometimes the bags are mistaken for pine cones or other plant structures.

Bagworms prefer juniper, arborvitae, spruce, pine, and cedar but also attack deciduous trees. Female moths cannot fly but the larvae can disperse. Very small caterpillars can spin strands of silk and be carried by wind, an activity called “ballooning”. Larger larvae may crawl to adjacent plants.

New York State Insider: New York State Senator Pete Harckham 42nd District: Get Things Done, Work for Everybody.

I have a simple guiding principle when it comes to public service: Get things done and work for everybody.

This came to mind when I participated in a groundbreaking ceremony recently for a new adaptive use, ADA accessible playground at Granite Knolls Park in Yorktown that was funded with a $250,000 state grant I was able to secure.

Working with dedicated advocates and local officials, we are seeing this project through!

From the start, I vowed to work with everybody—because our communities are stronger when everyone has an equal opportunity to participate. The Granite Knolls project, one of several ADA playgrounds I have funded so far, is emblematic of my commitment.

So are the two bills that I introduced earlier this year (S.2972 and S.2973) to expand important service-related health benefits for our brave volunteer firefighters statewide.

Our first responders safeguard all of us and deserve our support.

Yes, I will continue to work hard for everybody and get things done!

Thank you!

Sincerely,

New York State Senator Pete Harckham 42nd District

New York State Insider: Election Desk 2022 News: Judge Throws out Redistricting Lines: Democrats going to Appellate Division to Appeal Ruling: Elections 2022.

Yesterday State Supreme Court Judge Patrick McAllister has thrown out New Congressional and State Legislative District Lines ordering Lawmakers to a come back with a New Redistricting Plan with weeks by April 11th.

The Democrats Plan to Appeal this Lower Court Decision and attempt to get A Stay on this Decision of the Lower Court Decision in the Appeal Process.

One of the People behind the Suit in the Redistricting Plan was Former Congressman John Faso stated due to this Ruling: "“The people won, and the politicians lost".

The Court Battle now heads to the Appeals Process on this Important Election Court Case. Petitions are due in Board of Elections by April 7th,  which leads to some Political Intrigue on this Case.

We will keep our readers posted as to what happens in the Appeal Process as to what the final out come will be on this Election Case.

There is a thought that Insider's believed that the GOP would prevail in the Lower Courts and The Democrats would prevail in the Appeal, I guess we shall see if that ends up being the Case. It makes for a Very Interesting Case to see what the Final Outcome will be.

New York State Insider: Statement from New York State Conservative Party Chairman Gerard Kassar.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: March 31, 2022.

Statement from New York State Conservative Party
Chairman Gerard Kassar.

Brooklyn, NY - “The Democratic Party got caught today being undemocratic. Its attempt to rig elections and to shut down political dissent in New York through outrageous gerrymandering was fortunately thwarted in New York State Supreme Court.

“Just a glance at these lines revealed them as ridiculously tainted. Now the Democrats must go back to the drawing board and have new lines ready in less than two weeks. We applaud the court’s decision, and urge them to keep an eye on every pencil line the Democrats draw over the next 11 days. They are not to be trusted.”
